Utrecht is a town of (inter)national encounters. Utrecht’s central location in the Netherlands, at an interchange of roads, railways and waterways in a unique historic setting, has turned the town into both a business and recreational meeting centre.

The Utrecht area is home to important knowledge institutes, including health and meteorological institutes and Utrecht University. Utrecht wants to seize its growth and transformation success to add value to the total urban area. In addition to existing office locations, Utrecht also has two major development locations: Leidsche Rijn and the Stationsgebied (Station Area).

 

 

Leidsche Rijn:

Utrecht has been building its new Leidsche Rijn town district for over 10 years. This new area will be home to approximately 80.000 people by 2025 and will employ a total of 40.000 people. Leidsche Rijn therefore offers plenty of scope and space for industriousness in special office locations with some very striking buildings.

With the realisation of the Leidsche Rijn Centre, literally above the junction of the A2 and the Utrecht-The Hague railway line, Utrecht will be given a second fully fledged town centre. This will become a lively, urban area with a large diversity of functions and provisions. Companies looking for their own office buildings at the best possible clearly visible location opt for the A2 zone to the North of the centre area, with 80.000 m2 of flexible gross floor space.

Stationsgebied Utrecht:

Utrecht’s Stationsgebied is being redeveloped. An ambitious programme will be realised in the years ahead in order to prepare the area around the Central Station for the future. The development programme: a new Public Transport terminal, 2.290 homes, 250.000 m2 for offices, 45.000 m2 for shops, 8.800 m2 for catering establishments, 33.500 m2 for culture, 29.000 m2 for hotels and 70.000 m2 for leisure facilities.
