City of Rotterdam

The City Development Corporation of the city of Rotterdam is, as a public undertaking, part of the concern Rotterdam. Ordered by the administration and together with other municipal institutions, inhabitants and entrepeneurs the CDC works to create a vital city. Managing property in different areas, the exploitation of grounds, leasehold and the development of economic policy are the core businesses of the CDC. Moreover the CDC ensures cross connections between these businesses. In short: for Rotterdam the CDC is an enterprising connection between economics and space.

The CDC offers facilities for small and medium-sized firms, helps starters, promotes networks and puts excellent entrepeneurs to the stage. Extra attention is paid to economic clusters which are likely to be succesfull, such as: audiovisual industry, ICT, medical technology en the harbor/industrial complex. Also very important: leisure economics. This is the generator of an engaging image, a growing number of visitors, more spending and 13.000 jobs. To litteraly give space to entrepeneurs in Rotterdam to grow, the CDC is working on the development of new business sites and old ones are being restructured. The CDC also issues ground for offices and facilities. Next to this, the corporation is working on the improvement of the housing and living conditions in the city, by creating high standerd housing accommodation in newly created living areas, the city center and by the river banks. On a large scale, outdated residential districts are being refurbished and developed into greener areas with more variation.

With all of this the CDC wants to put Rotterdam on the stage, by convincing everyone that Rotterdam is a young, enterprising, international and creative city, with a beautiful river as eyecatcher.
